Zimbabwe – A 12-year-old boy from Mashayanyika Village in Gokwe has become the talk of the village after he impregnated his 15-year-old cousin.
The two, who can’t be named since they are juveniles are said to have been in an ince-stuous relationship since November last year.
A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the two stayed together with the boy’s mother, who happens to be the girl’s aunt.
‘They shared the same bedroom because the unsuspecting mother of the boy never imagined that the two could end up ‘falling in love’, ” said the source.
When the matter came to light, the boy’s mother denied that her son was responsible for the pregnancy saying that he was too young to impregnate females.
The father of the girl would have none of it, as he also demanded that they pay him two beasts. “The girl’s father and the boy’s father started fighting as the boy’s mother was saying that her son was too young to father a baby. The girl’s father was also furious saying that he wanted the boy’s mother-her sister in law- to pay him two cows,” added the mole.
They then reported the matter to Chief Nembudziya for arbitration.
Contacted for a comment, Chief Nembudziya confirmed presiding over the incident.
“I can confirm that I presided over that matter. I wanted the two parties to pay for their children’s incestuous relationship. I therefore let them go free because the kids were too young. The girl has since been taken in by the social welfare.
