WHAT IS THE WHATSAPP BUNDLE?


The WhatsApp Bundle is a bundle that you can purchase to get access to usage within the WhatsApp application for period of 30 days. A fair usage limit of 1GB will apply. The WhatsApp Bundle is available to Cell C customers on Postpaid, Prepaid and Top Up.

WHAT DOES THE WHATSAPP BUNDLE COST?

The WhatsApp Bundle costs R5 and gives you access to WhatsApp for 30 days.

HOW DO I GET THE WHATSAPP BUNDLE?

Cell C Customers on Postpaid, Prepaid and Top Up can purchase the Bundle in the following ways:
  • USSD on *147# and on *109#
  • Call Customer Care and request for the WhatsApp Bundle to be loaded on your account

HOW LONG IS THE BUNDLE VALID FOR?

  • Activating the WhatsApp Bundle will enable you to access WhatsApp for any of the application usage for a period of 30 days when purchased on Prepaid or when activated as a once-off Postpaid purchase.
  • The validity of the bundle will be a calendar month from date of purchase for Postpaid and Top Up recurring, and the first month’s purchase will be pro-rated depending on the date of purchase. Thereafter the bundle will be activated on the first of the month and valid for the calendar month.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I REACH THE 1GB

FAIR USAGE LIMIT?

  • Once the 1GB fair usage limit has been reached, you will be charged for usage at your normal standard tariff plan unless you have inclusive data or a data bundle loaded. You will receive an SMS notifying you that you have reached your Bundle limit.
  • The Bundle will expire after 30 days (or a calendar month), if a new WhatsApp Bundle is not loaded, you will be charged for usage at your normal standard tariff plan unless you have inclusive data or a data bundle loaded.

CAN I BROWSE OTHER INTERNET SITES?

The WhatsApp Bundle wallet will not be consumed for any other data usage outside of WhatsApp. Access to other websites will incur data charges applicable at your normal tariff plan or will deplete from any existing data bundles.

WHAT ABOUT MY FREE DATA?

If you have loaded a WhatsApp Bundle, all WhatsApp usage will be billed to the WhatsApp Bundle. If you have free data and/or inclusive data available, these will be depleted for other internet usage.

WHAT IF I MIGRATE TO ANOTHER

PACKAGE / TARIFF PLAN?

If you migrate to a new package or tariff plan, the WhatsApp Bundle will be carried over to the new package or tariff plan if it is still within its validity period.

HOW DO I VIEW MY BALANCE AND BUNDLE

EXPIRY DATE?

You will be able to view the balance of your WhatsApp Bundle by dialing *147#. The expiry date will also display on the detailed balance enquiry.

WHAT ARE THE EXCLUSIONS ON THE BUNDLE?

  • MVNO, MVNE’s, Vitality, Community Payphones and LCR
  • BlackBerry operating systems earlier than BlackBerry 10
  • International roaming
  • Usage on WhatsApp Calling (VOIP)
  • Bonus airtime cannot be converted to a WhatsApp Bundle

HOW DO I CANCEL / DEACTIVATE THE

WHATSAPP BUNDLE?

You can cancel or deactivate the WhatsApp Bundle at any point by contacting Customer Care. There will be no refunds for cancellations. However, where you have a recurring bundle, you may request for future bundles to be cancelled.

WhatsApp is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows and Android phones.
