Lionel Richie is COMING TO SOUTH AFRICA


Big Concerts is proud to announce that the iconic Lionel Richie will be coming to South Africa in 2016 performing ALL THE HITS ALL NIGHT LONG. The multi-award winning singer will be performing five shows in four Mzansi cities.
Big Concerts announced on today that the four-time Grammy Award winner will be coming to our shores. His four city concerts will see him perform on the 13 March in Durban at the Moses Mabhisa Stadium, 16 March in Port Elizabeth at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium , 18 March in Cape Town at the Cape Town Stadium and lastly in Johannesburg at the TicketPro Dome on 20 and 21 March 2016.
Lionel who has been topping charts with this songs such as Dancing on the Ceiling, Hello and Penny Lover over the years started his career as a member of the iconic musical group Commodoressigned to Motown Records. He then pursued his solo career in 1982 with the album Lionel Richi eand the number-one hit “Truly”.
One of the world’s best selling artists of all time, Lionel Richie has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. As a member of the Commodores, Lionel developed a groundbreaking style that defied genre categories, penning smashes such as “Three Times A Lady,” “Still,” and “Easy.” After writing “Lady” for Kenny Rogers, and “Endless Love” with Diana Ross (which garnered an Academy Award®and a Golden Globe nomination), Motown asked him to do a solo album. The self-titled debut would cement him as a star in his own right and earn him his very first Grammy for the hit “Truly.” The diamond-certified “Album of the Year” winner Can’t Slow Down followed in 1983, giving the world classics such as “All Night Long (All Night),” “Penny Lover,” “Stuck On You,” and “Hello.”
Currently he has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time. He finished his Las Vegas: All The Hits tour in May.

His tour has sold out across the globe in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, United States and the Middle East. Richie will take his hit-filled show, featuring songs from the Commodores to 4 South African cities.
