Man Can Finally Have Sex With His Wife After Having 80-Pound Scrotum Removed [NSFW]

Dan Maurer, a 40-year-old man from Battle Creek, Michigan, had been living with an 80-pound scrotal lymphedema for more than seven years that prevented him from doing much more than sitting in his house all day. The humungous mass was an incredible strain mentally, physically, and emotionally on Maurer and his wife Mindy. TLC chronicled the couple's journey after Maurer was finally able to get surgery for his ever-growing scrotum, allowing him to live normally again for the first time in years. Warning: Some of the photos of Maurer's scrotum from the episode are graphic
Maurer always tried to address the problem himself as his scrotum grew because doctors told him it was just a matter of weight loss. He and Mindy wrapped the mass daily to try and shrink it, but that never worked. At some point, Maurer's penis and testicles were overtaken by the growing scrotal lymphedema, preventing the couple from having sex.

When doctors were finally able to remove the growing mass, they cut into the 80-pound lymphedema and removed a total of 150 pounds of fat. During the surgery, they "hope[d] to find his penis and testicles buried inside the lymphodema" and they did: After more than 12 hours in surgery, they found everything engulfed in the mass. Luckily, all parts were salvageable and in working condition.

Just months after the surgery (and with the help of money raised by a GoFundMe to handle the astronomical surgical costs) , the Maurer's lives are returning to normal. Dan was able to take Mindy out on a romantic date (and have sex with his wife) for the first time in seven years: "I'm looking forward to surprising her again.
