NTOKOZO Nkosi (16) PUPIL DIES AT SCHOOL!

NTOKOZO Nkosi (16) was a bright-eyed schoolgirl with big dreams of becoming a doctor in the defence force.
But on Thursday the Vosloorus Comprehensive Secondary School grade 10 pupil collapsed in the school toilet and died.
“Death took her away from us,” said her shattered mum Thoko Nkosi (51), of Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni. She was told her daughter went to the toilet and when she didn’t return, a classmate found her on the floor in the restroom.
She was certified dead at the scene.
Thoko received a call from the school to report her daughter’s collapse. “I arrived and saw cops and pupils wondering what happened.”
Teachers took the mum to the office where cops explained that her daughter was dead.
She was then taken to the sick room, where her daughter’s body was being kept.
“She looked as if she was only taking a nap. I cried and called her name but had to accept she was gone,” she said.
Thoko said Ntokozo had showed no signs of illness that morning.
“She said goodbye when she locked the door. Little did I know it would be the last time I would see my daughter alive,” Thoko said.
She didn’t suspect any foul play. “I was looking forward to see her in an SANDF uniform one day, but God had his own plan.”
Education spokeswoman Phumla Sekhonyane is deeply saddened by Ntokozo’s death.
She said she was found unconscious by pupils in the restroom. “The pupils immediately alerted a teacher and emergency services were called.
“They declared her dead on arrival. The department cannot confirm what led to her death.”
She also said counselling was provided for pupils and the school will continue to give the family support.
Captain Piet Rossouw said the cause of death was unknown and an inquest docket has been opened.
