TWO women were fighting over a man when the girlfriend vowed she would teach the makhwapheni a lesson she’d never forget.
She went to her room to mix boiling water with cooking oil and methylated spirits and went back to get her revenge.
But then she threw the boiling concoction over the wrong person.
Instead of her rival, Neria Lebera (44), getting injured, Busi Sibeko (32) was badly burnt. She had burns on her right hand, arm and right side of the body.
The attacker has been arrested on a charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Busi was rushed to hospital where she was treated.
“It was very painful. The things she poured into the water caused a lot of harm.
“I can’t sleep well at night now that it is summer.
“I was lucky I hid my face behind my hand otherwise she would have ruined my face,” said Busi.
Neria said the attacker was an insecure woman.
“The man she accused me of cheating with was my boyfriend before. We parted ways after he cheated on me with her.
“I met him again at my sister’s party and she thought we were back together.
“Her jealousy landed her in the police cells,” said Neria.
“I hope the law takes its course and she rots in jail.
Busi added: “She must learn a lesson that jealousy is deadly.
“I can’t sleep at night because it still burns inside.”
She said, after receiving ointment, her injuries were healing nicely since the incident that happened a week ago.
Honeydew cops confirmed that a case of assault was opened at the station.
