Matheba excitedly announced on her social media page that she had clinched a lucrative deal to have her lingerie range, Bonang for Distraction, available in Australia.
But the announcement was premature, because according to Woolworths, they have no plans to "extend Bonang’s capsule collection for Distraction beyond Southern African borders."
he South African retail conglomerate said there was confusion over Matheba's statement as she was the South African ambassador for the lingerie range and would remain so.
"Distraction has, however, been available in David Jones stores in Australia since August 2015. Ms Matheba has rectified the error by posting a correction on her social media profiles,” Woolworths said.
