DRUGS, KNIVES FOUND IN SCHOOLS!

HARDLY a week after a government official warned them about drugs and gangsterism, pupils from Dr Harry Gwala Secondary School in Etwatwa have been bust with drugs and booze – in class!
Alcohol, nyaope, two okapi knives and cigarettes were found in the backpacks of pupils at three schools in the area last Thursday.
A 25-year-old woman was also arrested outside Dr Harry Gwala after she was found in possession of dagga which she was allegedly selling to the pupils.
At Phandimfundo Secondary School, police found dagga.
At Amos Maphanga Secondary they found dagga and cigarettes.
The raid comes in the wake of gangsterism in the area and follows Ekurhuleni human settlements mayoral committee member Aubrey Nxumalo’s recent visit to the schools.
“We are monitoring schools in Etwatwa and raiding is part of the solution to end gangsterism in this area,” said Captain Pearl van Staad.
The area was rocked by gang violence last month. The cops said they will continue to monitor the area.
