But when kasi people killed him she rolled sobbing on the hard road near his body!
"He didn't deserve to die in such a cruel way," she cried.
A crowd of people reportedly caught jobless Thani Nkwenkwesi (27) breaking into a house in Nyanga’s Old Crossroads, Cape Town yesterday morning.
They tied him up and beat him to death in the street!
Nowethu (52) wept bitter tears for her school dropout son.
She pointed to the sky and screamed at the people: “I knew my second son was naughty.
“But why did you have to tie his hands and legs?
“He couldn’t defend himself!” Nowethu said she last her saw her son alive just before bed on Wednesday night.
“This morning, neighbours woke me to tell me my child had been killed.
“I don’t know why!
“The person who killed my son must bury him because I won’t,” the grieving mum cried.
A resident said residents of Unathi in Old Crossroads were tired of thugs like Thani.
“If they don’t stop terrorising the community, we will deal with them,” he said.
“We plead with their families to stop covering up for naughty children as we will come down on them very hard.”
Captain Frederick van Wyk said: “The death of the man found with his hands tied with rope in Sidiki Street is under investigation.
“A murder case was opened. No arrest has been made yet,” said Van Wyk.
