THE President of The Creative and Cultural Industries Federation of South Africa (CCIFSA), Tony Kgoroge, is accused of not paying taxi owners.
The taxis had transported
CCIFSA members to a recent conference at Villiers in the Free State earlier this year.
CCIFSA member, Kopano Mokoena, said: “Tony ordered me to organise transport. I booked five taxis from Shadrack Lephatsoe in Sasolburg and one from a guy in Viljoenskroon.”
Taxi owner Shadrack said: “Tony owes me R13 600. He referred me to a woman called Kedibone. But she told me the matter must be taken up with the CCIFSA board. Tony doesn’t take my calls.”
Taxi owner Vuyisile Motapane said he’s owed R5 400. “I want my money. I survive by transporting people,” he said.
Yesterday Tony said: “There are invoices that are outstanding. I’ll check with the treasurer general and the administrator. Shadrack and I asked Kedibone to help her. I’ll follow this up.”
